Tru-D is a portable UV disinfection system that delivers an automated, measured dose of UVC light to help kill deadly pathogens and common health care-associated infection culprits throughout a room during a single cycle. Compensating for size, shape, geometry and contents, Tru-D takes the appropriate time necessary to disinfect every room, eliminating human error. Tru-D is the only “smart” UV disinfection robot with patented Sensor360® technology. By measuring the reflected UVC energy that bounces back to the robot, Tru-D can provide the precise, lethal dose of UVC needed for thorough room disinfection, assuring users that a room has been properly disinfected.
Thank you to the Rawson Family Foundation for funding 16 new UV Ovens for the hospitals of Morton Plant Mease, which will help minimize waste by disinfecting essential medical supplies needed for the care of our patients. Examples of these items include MDI (metered-dose inhaler) canisters, face shields, goggles and other general supplies, such as cell phones and pens. This UV box safely delivers 287 times the UV dosage to kill COVID-19 in less than a minute. As supplies remain a top priority, allowing clinicians to disinfect and re-use designated items will greatly help ensure appropriate products will continue to be available for use. These UV Ovens will initially reside in our Emergency Departments, COVID-19 cohorts and Critical Care Units.
While much of our community is adhering to the current “stay at home” orders, Mease Countryside Hospital is experiencing an increase in children needing to be treated at the hospital. While the hospital’s Child Life team specializes in meeting the psychosocial, emotional, developmental and recreational needs of patients, they desperately need new toys, games and activities for these kids. Due to an abundance of caution to prevent the spread of the coronavirus disease, the hospital’s toys and games are being donated and sent home with the families once discharged, rather than trying to disinfect them. This has caused an extreme shortage of items available for the kids admitted to the hospital. You can make a huge difference by following the Amazon wish list link below and purchasing an item for our pediatric patients. The item(s) you purchase will be delivered directly to Mease Countryside Hospital and be distributed to their pediatric population immediately. Please note, when checking out using the Amazon link below, please select “Mease Countryside Hospital Pediatrics Toy Drive” as your shipping address. Thank you!
While we are adequately stocked on masks and other PPE for the time being, philanthropy can help purchase more masks immediately and get them in the hands of our caregivers to safely treat patients.
With many team members facing unanticipated and unusual financial uncertainty these days, assistance to Morton Plant Mease team members is available through the Family Care Fund. Examples of how your support to the Family Care Fund helps our team members include mortgage and rent, utilities, food, car payments and prescriptions. Financial assistance is not granted directly to the team member, but rather paid in the form of food gift certificates, or payment directly to the payee (electric company, Mortgage Company, etc.). Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we anticipate the demand to be much higher than expected and emergency funds are needed to support our team members facing financial hardship.
